Characters from Only Fools And Horses

Del Boy

Del Boy is perhaps the best-known character from Only Fools And Horses and has made a household name of David Jason who has also appeared in a wide variety of different acting roles. Del Boy was renowned for his wit, sharp business acumen and his cheeky chappie characteristics. Many of Del Boys original sayings are still very popular amongst fans of the show even today.

Rodney

Rodney Trotter is the younger brother of Del Boy “Derek Trotter” and has himself become embroiled in a number of highly amusing and hilarious escapades. Despite the fact that the two brothers seem to fight all the time they are always there for each other and there have been some very interesting encounters!

Grandad

The Trotter family were certainly impacted by the loss of their Grandad (actor Lennard Pearce) who passed away while Only Fools And Horses was in full flow. Indeed the real-life death of the actor Lennard Pearce led to one of the saddest yet more memorable episodes of the show where they actually covered the funeral of the character.

Uncle Albert

Uncle Albert (played by Buster Merryfield) took over the role of father figure for the two brothers when actor Lennard Pearce passed away. He was very different to Grandad buddy slotted in very well to the dysfunctional Trotter family.

While these were the four main characters from the Only Fools And Horses series there were many more who joined in the longer term, short-term and many others from around the area were also heavily involved in some of the best storylines. The series attracted the largest ever Christmas audience for a sitcom with over 24 million watching “Time on our Hands” back in 1996. No other sitcom has come anywhere near that kind of viewing figure and many believe it will go down in history as the best ever audience for a UK sitcom.
